The History of Chinese Tables:
The Chinese Square Tables were very common in Chinese households and served as a multipurpose piece of furniture. The Square Table was often found at the center of social activities, positioned in the main halls/living room where stools or benches could be placed alongside so that families and friends could share a meal or socialize. Unlike western cultures that prefer rectangular tables, the Chinese favors the square table because it brought the people closer together as they eat and socialize.
