The History of Chinese Trunks:
Trunks were very common in the early ages when the Chinese were still simulated in the floor mat culture. The Chinese Trunks were a simply large container box that was used for storage for clothing, personal belongings, books and home essentials. Not only was the Chinese Trunk great for storage, it was as well a multipurpose piece of furniture that served as a table, chair, coffee table and decoration piece.
Our selection of Chinese Trunks and Mongolian Trunks are all hand painted eloquently with beautiful designs such as exquisite landscapes, customary events depicting people being entertained, and botanical and mythical animals that were symbolic. Many decorators have incorporated the Chinese Trunks as accent pieces to fill in spaces of a room and were typically seen in modern media as decorative coffee tables or traditional wooden ottoman tables.
