The History of Mongolian Cabinets:
Mongolia is located in the northern section of China and positioned in between the borders of Russia as well. What makes Mongolian Cabinets distinctive from others cultures are their decorative bold painting designs, bulkiness in size for more storage room and the use of their popular deep red/orange mix color schemes.
Mongolian Cabinets were first used as large trunks with no door panels on the sides. This design made the Mongolians place their clothing and any storage items from the top of the cabinet in a stacking format. Gradually, the Mongolians made minor adjustments to their furniture building and incorporated hinges and door panels for easier access. However their color schemes and hand painted designs were still intact.
